Chrismont La Zona Prosecco Shines with Trophy and Top Gold at Northeast Victorian Wine Challenge 2025

We are thrilled to share a remarkable achievement that embodies our passion and dedication to winemaking.

The Chrismont La Zona King Valley Prosecco NV has been honoured with the prestigious TROPHY and TOP GOLD for ‘Best Prosecco’ at the Northeast Victorian Wine Challenge 2025!

In a highly competitive Class filled with talented King Valley Prosecco winemakers, this accolade is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence, founded by the vision of Arnie and his late father, Arnaldo, who planted Chrismont’s first vines in 1980 at our high-altitude estates in Cheshunt and Whitfield.

"Victoria's King Valley is not just the birthplace of Australian Prosecco; it is a vibrant hub of innovation in alternative winemaking," Arnie shares. "Winning this coveted Trophy amidst such talented peers makes this recognition profoundly meaningful to us."

For our Chief Winemaker, Warren Proft, this honour is more than just a trophy; it symbolises the dedication and craftsmanship of our entire vineyard and winery team. "It validates the hard work and meticulous care that goes into every bottle we produce," he explains.

“This accolade reflects the heart and soul of Chrismont, the collective effort of everyone involved in our journey to produce outstanding wines. It highlights the unique character of our high-altitude vineyards, a legacy that began with Arnie and Arnaldo’s passion for grape growing.”

The Chrismont Prosecco house style, made with the Charmat method, offers an authentic, dry profile with a beautiful pale straw colour and subtle green hues. Each sip reveals floral aromas of melon and fresh apple, with crisp acidity and a refreshing, sparkling finish.

Since its inception in 2012, the North East Victorian Wine Challenge (NEVWC) has celebrated the extraordinary wines of the North East Victorian Wine Zone (NEWZ), encompassing the picturesque Alpine Valleys, Beechworth, Glenrowan, King Valley, and Rutherglen.

In addition to this incredible recognition, Chrismont also won GOLD / 95pts at the Challenge with our La Zona Barbera 2024, achieving the highest score for a Barbera wine at the Show, and our La Zona Rosato 2025, crafted from the iconic Sangiovese grape that we cultivate in our Whitfield vineyard.
